  1. Thanks for this nice metaphore, vuurklip! Well found, I love the innocent body language of the little boy.
The image reminds me of an exchange of mails I had recently with a Catholic priest on the matter of faith and reason. I am an agnostic, and think I avoided a debate that – by definition- would never end, telling him he was free to believe whatever he wished, but that our points of view were different by nature.

    • Well, if God did exist, he would be a world champion at hide-and-seek! And the priest would be searching for a very long time. (vuurklip: a lapsed Catholic and ex-altarboy)

  2. Continuing your metaphor vuurklip, I would say that, unfortunately, believers are deprived from playing hide-and-seek. They are sure to have found the hiding-place of The Truth long ago; wasn’t it revealed to them by the Source Itself?

Think about this saying of a friend of mine:
    Ignorance is full of certainties.
I too, can live happily having several doubts; they don’t make me afraid.

It brings to my mind this nice song; to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne”:

A smile is quite a funny thing:
    t wrinkles up your face,
And when it’s gone, you’ll never find
    Its secret hiding-place.

But far more wonderful it is
To see what smiles can do:
You smile at one, he smiles at you,
And so, one smile makes two.

    Be well!
